Product Overview

The Trusted® Fibre Transmitter/Receiver (Tx/Rx) Unit T8314 is designed to extend the TrustedExpander Bus over distances of up to 10 km. This enables a Trusted Expander Chassis to be locatedremotely from the Trusted System.The Expander Bus is extended by means of a communications link using a single mode fibre opticcable. The Trusted Fibre TX/RX Unit converts the differential signals of the copper based ExpanderBus to a fibre optic signal for transmission via the single mode cable. Three totally independentpairs of Trusted Fibre TX/RX Units provide a non-interfering ‘Grey Channel’ approach to safety.

The Trusted® Controller Chassis can be either swing frame or fixed frame mounted and houses theTrusted Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) Processor and Trusted Input/Output (I/O) and / orInterface Modules.The Chassis may be panel (rear) mounted by the addition of a Panel Mounting Kit, (T8380) whichcomprises a pair of brackets with rear facing ears.The Inter-Module Bus (IMB) backplane is part of the Trusted Controller Chassis and provideselectrical interconnection and other services for the modules.
